It’s nearly the most wonderful time of the year, and if you work or live around Birmingham, you will most likely be gearing up to visit the German Christmas Market in the City Centre this festive season.
So what is the German Christmas Market, when is it and where is it located? Here’s the all important details…
Birmingham German Market 2018

When: Thursday 15th November – Sunday 23rd December 2018

What: The Frankfurt Christmas Market Birmingham is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany and Austria, which started in 1991. Since then it has returned to Birmingham at Christmas time, getting bigger and better every year.
What’s at the Birmingham Christmas Market?
It has a mixture of wooden huts that are lit up with illuminated attractions and twinkling lights, perfect to get you in the festive spirit. It is great for shopping, drinking and eating, with an array of stalls for every food and gift imaginable!
What’s more, the Christmas market is great for family days out, as well as going with friends or colleagues on your lunch break or after work.
There are plenty of cashpoints around locally, and plenty of places to eat if you fancy going for dinner beforehand – such as Jailbird and Las Iguanas, as well as places to go for cocktails and drinks.
The Christmas Market gets extremely busy at peak times, and although it creates a wonderful atmosphere, some may prefer to walk around the stalls at a quieter time. Keep in mind that the busiest times are weekends, weekday lunch times (12 – 2pm) and weekday evenings (5 – 7:30pm).
