Leonardo Da Vinci & the Royal Collection Comes to Birmingham
To mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci, 12 of his greatest & most famous drawings from the Royal Collection will be on display at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery this Spring.
This Nationwide event will allow the UK to see 144 of Da Vinci’s greatest works, reflecting his interests and hobbies.
There will be a series of tours for visitors to get an insight into the artists techniques, as well as an education programme to teach of his history. It is a great opportunity for children to learn of this great artist, and is a once in a lifetime opportunity, as they are unlikely to be shown in Birmingham again.
This event is free, and will run from 1st February – 6th March, available weekdays and weekends. For more information, visit the British Museum website.
If you’re not too familiar with Leonardo da Vinci, you might recognise one of his more familiar works of art – ‘The Mona Lisa’ which is on permanent exhibition at The Louvre over in Paris, France.
