The 3 Best Tapas South American Restaurants in Birmingham

We now see ourselves as food connoisseurs, and as we have been trying the restaurants out and about in Birmingham, South American Food and Tapas has been a firm favourite. So whether you’re looking for a lunch stop or a dinner venue, here’s where we think you need to visit….

Bodega

Bodega is a small South American restaurant located in Birmingham Centre, with a vibrant atmosphere and quirky drinks and food. It’s a great place to meet friends at the end of the day, or to go for a laid back lunch with colleagues. They incorporate authentic dishes on their menu, and a large amount of their team members have travelled through South America themselves!

Revolución De Cuba

We’ve actually written about Revolucion De Cuba in a previous blog post, but we had to include it here too! The restaurant is located downstairs, which is spacious and relaxed, and a great place to enjoy their menu full of ‘a rich fusion of different styles’. They also have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options, meaning that everybody can be included in the fun!

Head here for a payday treat or to let your hair down with colleagues on a Friday night (and visit their upstairs Havana rum bar!)

Las Iguanas

Again, we’ve already written a whole, extensive blog post on Las Iguanas but we needed to include it here – yes it’s THAT good! Located directly opposite Revolucion De Cuba, it offers an authentic, vibrant menu and a fun atmosphere. Sitting near the bar at the front of the restaurant is a great place to get the whole experience, or sit near the kitchen for a more laid back experience. They offer lots of variety of dishes, covering different South American areas – and plenty of choice for those with food allergies. One things for sure – you will not be disappointed with their food!

That’s our whistle stop tour of our favourite South American places to eat in Birmingham City Centre, but let us know if we’ve missed somewhere out – we would love to try new places!
